From the beginning, this experience has been exceptional. Thirty-six years ago, I collaborated with a goldsmith in Boston to create my original engagement ring (with an uncut tourmaline), and now I wanted to work on a special diamond ring for my 36th anniversary. I worked with Kerin to design a ring that would combine the submerged diamonds of the "Glacier Ring" with a larger but still low-profile center diamond. She advised me on the best size and shape stone to use for the center stone (we ended up using a pair of triangular "maccles"; she made me an earring out of the extra stone), and she designed a gorgeous, simple, clean and unique setting for the center stone. Communication was excellent throughout the process, and the end results are just spectacular and so, so special. I was impressed with how much emphasis is placed on ethical sourcing at The Raw Stone--right down to the nice wooden box the ring came in. This was very important to me, and I gather from the website that it is a core part of the mission of the business to try to make the world a better place. May their kind be multiplied in the world.
