Review Title: Superlative by every measure! Review: The Definitive Technologies Dymension DM80 flagship floor standing speakers are superlative by every measure! Their sound, build quality, visual presentation are all impeccable and above reproach! Sound quality: How do they sound? In a word, luscious! I am certainly no audiophile though I have had some pretty nice speakers in the past such as IMF Reference Standard Professional Monitor Mk. IV’s and Infinity Kappa 9’s. The DM80’s are definitely contenders in the heavyweight class! Though far from cheap, they are a relative bargain when you consider the performance and hardware you get for the price! Consider that each 83 pound speaker contain 9 transducers and a 400 watt amplifier! I should refrain from using nebulous adjectives to describe their sound in my 300+ sq. ft. listening area, but they are kind of mesmerizing! Warm, very detailed, full range with tremendous depth. They are entertaining and a pleasure to listen to, even for extended periods. I was expecting a solid bass response given the 3XR architecture with a 12” woofer and two 12” passive radiators powered by a 400 watt GaN FET amplifier. The bass response exceeded my expectations though. Deep and tight with visceral impact! The four 5.25" BDSS mid-bass/mid-range drivers with Linear Response Waveguides provide a smooth detailed effortless output that never sounds strained. There is no substitute for cubic inches as they say! Dialogue is crystal clear with movies, news casts etc. as well. My previous speakers were active studio monitors with a ribbon tweeters. I was concerned the DM80’s dual 1” aluminum oxide dome tweeters might not measure up to them. My fears were totally unfolded. The high frequencies sparkle and are not at all fatiguing. They are quite efficient speakers at 90dB (2.83V/1m) and are easy to power. I am using a modest Sony STR-AN1000 receiver that seems to be loafing along for the most part. ! I know; they deserve much better...

Ordering process was easy, only issue I had was some miscommunication on the shipping, one speaker was sent via Fedex, which worked great, the others were sent via a freight service which worked out great, but the original emails seemed to not include any details about who was transporting it or when it would arrive, but resolved via phone and they allowed me to schedule the delivery for a day that worked for me.

Shipping was incredibly fast. The speakers are awesome. The only thing that could be better are the 3 included plastic spikes to hold the speakers to the ground. They are not good at all.

The purchase was quick and simple and the shipping was right to my front door. I have never had any issues with Definitive Technology service and that’s why I chose them again for my speaker purchase

Great product. . I've owned the DT pro cinema series for over 20 years. . . the 4 satellite speakers center and sub. . . no issues until the sub got zapped by lightning.

It took them a day or so with little to no communication about the order, but after that small delay, the item shipped and was delivered very quickly. I was able to call customer service and get the order updates, however. Customer service in the technical assistance has been very responsive. But sometimes they didn’t have an answer and would have to escalate to higher level and those responses would come via email a couple days later. I guess I would consider the customer support adequate but it would be nice if you could just talk directly to the people that can get you the answers rather than have to wait for someone to get back to you via email and you can’t actually talk to them. Still overall happy with the product in the order process

Speakers arrived in great shape through a shipping company I hadn't worked with before. Having to be home to accept the delivery was a bit of a hassle, but I can understand the reasons companies require that.

There was a delay in the delivery from FedEx. That's all.

My experiences with definitive technology have all been positive to date. I've reached out to customer service for a variety of things, from replacement parts on older speakers, to questions about configuration and warranty and they have always been helpful.
