I should have bought these sooner. The price is quite up there, but so far, these have been the most comfortable, well built boots I've had yet. Which isn't saying too much given that I have only been through maybe 4-5 pairs (most from a company I work for so of course they're not exactly the most exquisite). However, given how I had more cheap, $100 ones that didn't feel all that great to wear compared to these? Literal night and day. --- Pros: Comfortable. Like stepping on a cloud. The foam inside makes the walks feel less strenuous around the work environemnt. Waterproof. Stepped into 4" puddle and not a single drop entered into the boot. Composite. Makes the weight feel non existent unloke the other boots I had. Even for their size it still has half the weight of steel toed ones I wore. The laces. I am unsure how to explain this one, but they just feel better. More rugged. Probably because they feel a hint thicker than the other boots I have worn. Rounded instead of flat laced, so to say. Cons: price. While fair for these (I believe), it still hurts a bit. Yet if these last for a few years, then it's well worth it. Composite. Unlike steel toe, after it takes hefty damage, it's unusable as there's compromise in the structure. --- TL;DR: Absurdly comfy, less ache/fatigue in feet with long walks, light in weight even if bulky, practically waterproof to the point of hydrophobic seeing how water rolls off. 5/5 Will probably get again if these wear down. If, key word!

I had to write this review as I was just *shocked* by the quality. I am a construction worker, carpenter, electrician, mechanic, fencer, roofer, asphalt layer, etc. - you name it - I've done it professionally. Long story short, I've been using these boots every day exclusively for a long time now. Today I stepped in a deep hole full of water. It must've been 9-10" deep and I was instantly angry and ready to rip my boots off. But. . . No water made it through! I walked away impressed that they actually are of the quality they say they are. I've had a lot of boots by a lot of brands and I've come to know "waterproof" is just BS every manufacturer puts out there. . . I couldn't believe Chinook actually meant what they were saying. These boots have been through so much abuse and held up perfectly despite it, but this one specific instance made me certain these are the best pair of boots I've ever owned. (P. S. Those logs in the picture are floating. I thought I could trust them and stepped all the way down the hole!)

I have had just about every boot out there and these, right out of the box, are the most comfortable boots I have ever had. I spend a lot of time on concrete on my feet and the boots are fantastic. Great insoles and the toe protection is some of the most durable material I have ever encountered on a boot. Chinook will be my preferred boot for the rest of my career I can tell you that!

I LOVE Chinook books and I buy them in bulk, but I don't recommend them to others, because Chinook has ZERO customer service. They don't answer the phone, ever, they don't return voicemail, and they don't respond to email or contact forms. Im a veteran consumer affairs investigator for the government, so when a company has no support, I cant recommend them.

Like everything else these days, these were awesome, but now they're gone. Ive spent 45 years as a first responder, consumer affairs investigator for the government, testing and evaluating products for the public. These are the best boots I ever owned for welding, restoring, renovating, firefighting, law enforcement, combat, concrete work, demolition. . . but now they're gone and Chinnok doesnt answer the phone or respond to emails, so I have no idea why.

This is my second pair of Chinooks, having purchased my first pair over a decade ago and, notwithstanding almost daily wear, are still going strong. Chinooks run true-to-size and are the most comfortable footwear I own. They're built like iron and, at age 71, I suspect they may outlast me. It's not what you spend, but what you get. And, with Chinook, you get a great deal, indeed.
