I actually have had three children at different times participate in BPF. I really wish this program was around for my oldest child. Two of my children, who are now in college, took the course when they were in middle school. They still remember so many of the lessons taught. Having to find an affordable apartment, how to obtain a car, and even what type of person they "married" in the course influenced their current decisions. They both have a better grasp on not only the importance of having a balanced budget but also the impact financial decisions can have on one's life. BPF presents necessary information in a fun-engaging manner that makes a lasting impression on students. My children and I are forever thankful for BPF.

My son took this course in middle school and it really helped him understand personal finance from earning money, to bills one has to pay in life, to investing, saving, and credit card pitfalls. Highly highly recommend***

I found Beyond Personal Finance years ago and wanted to bring it to the youth in my life. I was able to get the online version and guide the youth in my life with their own workbooks for a few weeks. It is all self explanatory and I was able to show my group how to prepare for and plan ahead for a great way to manage their money. Everything was spelled out and clear as to how to use the examples and discover for themselves what the costs of "adulting" would be. I feel this course allowed them to understand what was going to be happening once they reached more independence. The key element of the course that they all enjoyed was how it took them from newly being an adult all the way through retirement. They were able to also then understand a bit more about how adults in their lives manage money and such. I recommend this course to anyone i know who has kids.

I teach at True North Homeschool Academy. We use Beyond Personal Finance in our Personal Finance Course. It is a great curriculum! The students learn so much and think about how decisions that they will be making in the next few years that will effect their well-being for the rest of their lives. The students enjoyed the work, learned, and had FUN!

My homeschooled sons (ages 12 & 15) completed Beyond Personal Finance with a small group of similarly aged friends. My sons chose a career, made education decisions, created a budget, made the basic life decisions that seem small (like eating out and cell phone packages) but have a big impact, started a family, purchased a house, and learned about investing, owning a business and retirement. The topics covered are truly real life experiences, done in a way that is realistic. Completing the class in a group setting allowed us even more insight into the impact our decisions have over the short and the long term. My sons both have expressed a desire to now save more money early, and not waste money on costly expenses that don't really matter. As a parent, I also loved that this course was fun! The plot twists and baby game resulted in a lot of laughter and fun banter between the students, but also hit home on their bottom line as they tracked they money through the simulation. Beyond Personal Finance is a must-do for all teens!

I have 2 sons that took this class in their junior and senior years of high school, and it was well worth the investment. It helped them understand true-to-life finances in a way that they still talk about now that they have graduated from high school and are attending community college and working full and part time jobs. The scenarios Charla lead them through in this curriculum opened their eyes to making good choices for their financial futures, and I am happy to say both of my sons are making good financial decisions, are managing their money well, have accumulated a substantial amount in their savings accounts, and as of the writing of this review are both free of school debt. You will not regret the investment in this curriculum. It will give your student(s) the tools they need for future financial success!

Hello to all who are considering this essential life skill family course for your high schooler. One of many parental responsibilities is to grow a well-rounded young adult that has acquired the necessary skills to succeed on their own in this challenging world. This course absolutely opened the eyes and broaden the mind of our 16 year-old daughter last year. The syllabus follows the realistic progressive financial stages of life from planning college to retirement. This program has been amazing! Definitely the best thing I came home with from FPEA. My youngest, who is graduating this year, just completed it and I really wish I all my kids could have benefited from it. I loved the gradual way that it took them on a journey, AND it gave my student a taste of what it looks like when life happens, debts accrue, and how important it is to understand the connections between what is happening in your life and your financial wellness.
