Warm, cozy, pretty, made in the USA & great style
I’ve been coveting these mitts for over 2 yrs, after I saw a video of a friend skiing in them here in the east. I know she’s done ski vacations in MT every year, so I was pretty sure I would find them in WY. After traipsing around Jackson Hole and only finding the low mitts at the resort, I finally called Astis. Matt from Nashua NH (I grew up in southern NH) was super helpful, but did indicate that they were working on next seasons designs, and what was out there was all the stock they had. At least I got to try on the S and M shorter mittens at JH, to rule out getting a medium. The website said the vintage w/ long cuff run larger, so I was definitely sticking w/ a size S. My first choice, the Hayden, was sold out, as was the Kelly, so I went w/ my 3rd choice, the Hanno. Not as flashy, but the mitts themselves make a statement - especially here in the east! They are SUPER warm and comfortable, the fringe is cute, the rabbit fur is warm and cozy, and the beading is really pretty. I wore them to watch my nephews ski race, and then standing round at a dog trial in the parking lot. Just putting them on makes you feel so warm! Unfortunately, we got a stretch of warm weather, right when I was all excited to wear them, but it’s supposed to be cold again this weekend, and I have another 2-day dog trial, which means lots of hanging out in a parking lot - brr! While they will be too clumsy to wear while working a leash, they will be WARM between our runs. Ski season is winding down here, so I’ll have to wait till next year to really put them to the test! Oh, and Small is still roomy, they are easy to slide on and off, and would accommodate handwarmers if necessary at some point.
