Poignant read
I was delighted to receive a copy of this book to read. The synopsis firstly sounded interesting. It’s a beautifully written book about the biography of Carrie. She takes us through her life with poignant aspects described in detail. These included her struggles at school, her Fathers departing, her first child’s birth, the difficult split with her first partner through to SEN diagnosis’ of all three children and the struggles associated with that. I think Carrie wrote about the latter to highlight the lack of support during children’s diagnosis and proceeding years from both school and the NHS. It explains brilliantly how parents feel especially when they are young. I hope by writing this book it helps with her self healing as an older adult and coming to terms with everything life has thrown at her over the years.

“IN my own time”
I was lucky enough to have been given a present of this book, which I read and loved. An amazing and truly honest story of an amazing woman. A book which should be on the school curriculum for both boys and girls, and a copy of which should be in the Bookcas of ever Circuit Court Judge in the country! The poor girl suffered so much at the hands of a pretty nasty boyfriend and father of her first child. Subsequently she suffered at the hands of the Courts while fighting for her well deserved rights. A very emotional journey for the reader, but a journey with a very happy ending, with an amazing husband and three lovely children. My husband read it after me and highly commended the author and her honest and sincere accounts of her life. ,

Amazing story
Just finished this amazing book. I really enjoyed this book. I don’t read a lot of books because of my dyslexia but I found it easy to read and to follow. Love the fact that the font is big. It’s a very honest & personal account of Carrie & her beautiful family’s life! She reconnects with her first love and marries him after a year of absence. Proper true love story. They both never stopped loving each other! He’s such an amazing father and husband to her children. I was hooked from start to finish. It was a very emotional read. I felt like she’s sitting beside me, telling me her story. I laughed and shared sadness with her while I read her life journey. She's an inspiration and a brilliant mother, and she has patience of a Saint. Such an uplifting story of unconditional love and compassion towards her children who have learning difficulties. She never stops fighting their corner and getting the right supports to help her children as the Irish system is broken and Hse waiting lists and everything else that goes with trying out things into place is slow and tiring. Herself and her husband decided to fit into their children way of thinking and learn from their ways. I found this fantastic and inspiring. I think a lot of people worry about their children not meeting milestones and not fitting in to the norm. Love their attitude towards their children and people who won’t accept them for their uniqueness. A lot of people can learn from her story. Coping in a world that doesn’t always understand nor cater to the needs of children with autism or children with learning difficulties. It's a constant struggle, and It’s interesting to hear I recommend this book
